    About the Teacher

Pao Gumba is one of the very few home-grown Filipino ukulele virtuosos. He is the lead ukulele of the Ukulele Philippines Ensemble. He joined the Ukulele Philippines family in 2013; setting aside the hospitality management career he started after college. He also plays the guitar, piano, keyboards, bass guitar and drums; all self-taught. His music influences are Jake Shimabukuro, Kyas Ryo, Kolohe Kai, Greenday, Beatles, Keane and many more.

He performed at the 2nd Mactan Ukulele Festival in Cebu Philippines, 2013 & 2014 Thailand International Ukulele Festival in Bangkok Thailand, 1st and 2nd Philippine Ukulele Festival. He has also collaborated with local Filipino artists like Manskee, Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise Band and Danita Paner of Ferown Band.

His style is more of finger-style and instrumentals. He’s been a regular guest artist at Thailand International Ukulele Festival. He is also a sponsored artist and endorser of KoAloha Ukulele Hawaii, Susing’s Guitar Cebu, Olin Bandilla Ukulele and Maaya Ukulele.
