Time for a Change of Scene: Car Free Day Philippines 2016
In coordination with Metro Manila Development Authority, Ateneo faculty and staff and Quezon City Local Government Unit, Ateneo de Manila University together with Bicycle Friendly Philippines celebrates World Carfree Day on September 22 (Thursday).
World Carfree Day is a day when people come together to remember what our city streets look like without motorized transportation and also to remind ourselves about the importance of health, wellness and a clean environment. This is a day when the community is encouraged to leave their cars at home and walk or bike to work or school or even carpool because it is World Carfree Day we are hoping to lessen the cars on the road.
By joining this event, you are not only helping the environment but also your own body and health! Plus, Registration is FREE!
ROUTE AND SCHEDULE:
5:30am: Assembly / venue: Elevated driveway in front of SM Marikina
6:00am: Ride out
Route: ride out straight to Marcos highway up to Katipunan. Right turn at the SM Blue alley, right again at Katipunan Road going towards Ateneo de Manila University Gate 3, then ride inside Ateneo Campus.
Everyone in the community is welcome to participate by biking on that day.
