Known for its thick, hollow tubes,\u00a0Cloud 9<\/strong>\u00a0is one surfing spot that shouldn’t be missed in the municipality of General Luna. In fact, the place has become one of the must-try waves for many keen,\u00a0professional surfers across the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"When one talks about Siargao, the rolling waves, the splashing sounds, and the serene beauty of Cloud 9 always come to mind<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

There are different theories as to why it’s named Cloud 9. Some locals say it’s because a shape of \u201c9\u201d is formed whenever the wave starts to ascend and then breaks, producing a perfect barrel. While for others, it’s because it felt like they’re on cloud 9, totally elated with the picturesque view of the place, especially during sunrise and sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Cloud 9’s wave is a must-ride for all surfers<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Cloud 9 is commonly associated with its famous 300-meter boardwalk which provides easy access to the breathtaking waves. The boardwalk also has<\/span>\u00a0a viewing deck where everyone can enjoy watching the surfers.<\/p>\n

\"\"The view is more stunning during sunset<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

This well-loved place is also the site of the annual\u00a0domestic and international surfing competition. The event is sponsored by the provincial government of\u00a0Surigao del Norte and is participated by hundreds of the world\u2019s best surfers.<\/p>\n

An admission fee of Php 50<\/strong> is required for all non-General Luna residents who would want to enter the boardwalk and the viewing deck.<\/p>\n
