Situated along the secluded part of Barangay Malinao, Secret Spot Siargao<\/strong> is a small and quiet hostel where one can rest after a\u00a0tiring day roaming around the island. It encourages guests to\u00a0create friendship among other guests during their stay.<\/p>\n

Owner Adi Dela Rosa, an avid traveler, was the one who decided to make the hostel quite small and open. \u201c[It’s] so that I can still bond with my kind of people. When I\u2019m not traveling, I can always come home here and still talk to like-minded people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Secret Spot Siargao is an eco-friendly hostel that promotes environmental sustainability, hoping to inspire visitors to practice an eco-conscious and zero-waste mindset at all times.<\/p>\n

Occupying a 700-square-meter land within a coconut jungle, the two-story hostel has a well-cared-for small garden and a big hammock outdoor that makes the entire place looks totally inviting. The hostel pulls off a minimalist look but with a bit of decoration that will remind you of Indonesia, the country where the owner used to live in.<\/p>\n

The hostel has an easy-access reception where you will be greeted by its\u00a0friendly staff. It has three communal bathrooms, sink area, and a kitchen area.<\/p>\n

There are ten comfy bunk beds upstairs, accommodating up to only 20 guests (Php 600 per night).<\/p>\n

If you are still quite clueless about how to spend\u00a0a day in Siargao, you may approach the owner and their accommodating staff for some tips. In fact, they have a list of the places guests might want to visit that you can see written on the hostel\u2019s huge glass windows. They can also share some secret spots around that only a few know about. The hostel has also partnered with some motorbikes shops where you can rent one for Php 500 per day.<\/p>\n

When asked\u00a0about the purpose of building a hostel,\u00a0Dela Rosa said, \u201cI want everyone to experience the old Siargao, the\u00a0quieter side of the island, all while giving them\u00a0a chance to meet people from all walks of life, whether they are backpacking the world or escaping from the stressful corporate world.”<\/p>\n
