The name People\u2019s Park was coined by Romeo Sardon, a retired electrician, who wom the \u201cName the Park\u201d contest.<\/p>\n<p>The 4-hectare park is adorned with large sculptures representing what Davao is known for. It is an open plaza with landscaped greenery which is called \u201cPhilippine Rainforest\u201d where you can see pigeons around as you enjoy a family picnic at the grounds. There are also benches where you can sit to have a relaxing time inside the park.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4541\" src=\"http:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/pp4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/pp4.jpg 650w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/pp4-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Dancing Fountain<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Interesting sculptures include the huge Philippine Eagle replica, the Durian Dome, patterned with Davao\u2019s popular fruit, which serves at the main entrance where you can see legendary Mindanao works through pictures. Well-known sculptor Kublai Millan is the one who crafted these artworks, including the Lumads (indigenous people) of the town. Inside the park you can also see the Children\u2019s Library where kids can read books. The People\u2019s Park is also a perfect spot for joggers for it has a rainbow-colored track which you could use for a good run. CCTV cameras are installed around the park to ensure safety of the park-goers. It\u2019s one of the must-visit places in Davao because it is after all, free of charge.
