In its 2018 edition, over 220 contestants from 23 countries participated in the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3138\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/09\/anilao.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/09\/anilao.jpg 600w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/09\/anilao-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Anilao, Batangas\/IMAGE from the Department of Tourism\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>DIVE IN\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made by Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat during the Sixth Philippine Deep Blue episode organized by DOT and Dive Philippines. The decision is based on the country\u2019s readiness to welcome back dive tourists and sustain its position as the world\u2019s leading dive destination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"461\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15652\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/1.jpeg 461w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/1-240x300.jpeg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em><br \/>\nIMAGE from DOT<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Anilao Underwater Shootout is not only a competition but also a platform to communicate to the world the importance of safeguarding our delicate reefs and marine ecosystems for future generations,\u201d Puyat said.<\/p>\n<p>Consistent with the gradual and safe reopening of the dive destinations in the new normal, organizers of the Shootout are pulling out all the stops to exhibit the country\u2019s rich and vibrant diving industry anew and gather divers, professional and amateur underwater photographers, and marine enthusiasts from around the globe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHOOTOUT CONTEST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comprising this year\u2019s panel of judges are renowned underwater photographers Mike Bartick, Scott Gutsy Tuason, and William Tan, along with Underwater360 Group founder John Thet.
