Rediscover this forgotten gem in Antipolo.<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n

Declared as a National Park in the ’90s, Hinulugang Taktak<\/strong> in Antipolo City was almost forgotten by tourists and local citizens alike. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hinulugang Taktak reopened earlier this year.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just a little bit of a background story: in the old days there was a popular song in town that represented the beauty of the waterfalls. Unfortunately, as pollution was rampant in areas around the falls, it eventually lost its charm.<\/span><\/p>\n

By 2000, the government proclaimed the park as a Protected Landscape and just last year, it was redeveloped to bring back its beauty and serve its purpose once again. Now, locals and tourists can enjoy the area again. Five of the most common activities visitors can do in Hinulugang Taktak are:<\/span><\/p>\n

Have a picnic<\/strong>. There are several mini cottages where families and group of friends can gather around and eat whilst enjoying the surroundings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smile, pose and shoot! <\/strong>Having photo walks or shoots here is suitable for people who want to avoid overcrowded parks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swim<\/strong>. Take a dip at the public pool to cool off after a long trip\u2026and pay peanuts for it, too!<\/span><\/p>\n

Find inner peace: meditate<\/strong>. On the other side of park, there\u2019s a statue of The Virgin Mary and a wishing well where you can pray and meditate away from the sightseers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simply enjoy the relaxing waterfalls<\/strong>. There is nothing more relaxing after quite a long walk down to reach the park than hearing the soothing sounds of falling water.<\/span><\/p>\n

The park has been open and free to the public since February this year. It is located along Taktak Road that is easily accessible in Sumulong Highway, just an hour or so from the metro.<\/span><\/p>\n
