  • A few meters away from Corregidor’s South Dock is the Lorcha Dock. Also referred to as the Army Dock or MacArthur’s Dock, this is the spot General

Douglas MacArthur used when he exited Corregidor in a submarine. This was after then US President Roosevelt ordered him to leave the island, fearing that the Japanese will attack them anytime. The said PT Boat/submarine docked in Misamis Oriental before riding a plane that took him to Australia.

A statue of the famed American General MacArthur waving stood a few meters by the dock. He was seen wearing his uniform, and the aviators which he was most famous in. Inscribed in a sign next to him were his famous words “I shall return.”

The place is a good spot for picture-taking, not only because of the picturesque view of the sea, but also because of the historical moment that had happened in that very same area.
