It\u2019s usually served during Christmas and New Year\u2019s Eve. It\u2019s a colorful dish that can be made out of chicken, pork, or beef. Here\u2019s how you can make your own beef morcon courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delmonte.ph\/kitchenomics\/recipe\/classic-morcon-del-monte-tomato-sauce-pinoy-dish\">Del Monte Kitchenomics<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meat roll and marinade:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>600 g of beef round, sliced tapa style into 2 pieces<\/li>\n<li>\u00be tbsp all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tbsp calamansi<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp soy sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the stuffing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pc hard-boiled egg, shelled and sliced into 6 wedges<\/li>\n<li>1 pc hotdog cut into 4 strips<\/li>\n<li>30 g bacon<\/li>\n<li>1 medium-sized carrot, cut into 4 strips<\/li>\n<li>2 pcs whole pickles, cut into 4 strips<\/li>\n<li>30 g cheese, cut into 4 strips<\/li>\n<li>1 medium red bell pepper, cut into 5 strips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the sauce:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 cloves of garlic, crushed<\/li>\n<li>1 medium onion, sliced<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd pc laurel leaf<\/li>\n<li>200 g tomato sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Procedure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Pound beef to flatten. Marinate in calamansi juice and soy sauce for 30 minutes. Drain but reserve marinade.<\/li>\n<li>Starting at one end of the meat, arrange the stuffing in alternate rows until all are used up. Roll and tie with string (pref. crocheting thread). Sprinkle with flour then brown all sides in oil. Set aside.<\/li>\n<li>Saut\u00e9 garlic and onion. Add beef, tomato sauce, 1 cup water, laurel leaf, and marinade. Simmer for 45 minutes or until tender.<\/li>\n<li>Remove string from morcon. Slice and arrange on a platter.
