The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines was opened in July 2011, in recognition of the Filipinos’ support of the Korean wave that hit the country starting in mid-2000s. The local KCC is the 20th Korean cultural center in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"KCC\"<\/p>\n

KCC offers various programs to promote the Korean culture to more residents in the Philippines. These include Korean culture classes like Traditional Dance, Samulnori (traditional percussions), Gayageum (traditional string instruments), Taekwondo, and KPop Dance, and Korean language classes for beginners and advanced learners. Class intake is every January, May, and September. Every May and October, KCC also administers the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) for language learners to their fluency in Korean.<\/span><\/p>\n

Annual cultural events like the Korean Speech Contest<\/a>, Korea Pop Quiz, Global Taste of Korea, Pinoy KPop Star, and Korean Film Festival<\/a> are just some of the activities prepared by KCC to reach out to a wider audience. The center also brings Culture Caravans to institutions in the metro and hosts Film and Concert screenings featuring Korea’s hottest idols.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guests can also visit KCC in Bonifacio Global City to have a look at the latest art exhibits hosted at the main hall or borrow books and multimedia items at the library. Group tours and use of facilities are accommodated upon request.<\/span><\/p>\n
