Established in 1976<\/strong>, the University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS)<\/strong> is one of the pioneering integrated schools in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"UPIS is located within the walls of the UP Diliman campus in Quezon City<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The school serves three main functions: as a laboratory school, as a service school, and as a feeder school.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a laboratory school, UPIS is the practicum and research site of student teachers not just from UP College of Education, but from other colleges and UP units, as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Admission to the school is pretty cutthroat as priority is given to the children of UP employees and staff. As a service school, UPIS has 60 of 100 kindergarten slots reserved to employees\u2019 children. Their tuition fees are also discounted.<\/span><\/p>\n

UPIS also serves as a feeder school of the University of the Philippines. Most graduates of the school opt to pursue higher education in the university. <\/span><\/p>\n

As mentioned, UPIS only accepts a limited number of students per school year. They accept 100 students per level at most. New students are only allowed for Kindergarten and Grade 7 levels, provided there are enough slots and that they passed the Kindergarten Admission Test (KAT) or the Grade 7 Admission Test (GAT). <\/span><\/p>\n
