The Quezon City local government unit launched Bakuna Nights<\/strong> for A4 workers with conflicting schedules last week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quezon City Mayor<\/strong> Joy Belmonte<\/b> made a resolution to address the outcry of many A4 workers who struggle with their work schedule to get vaccinated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is for our workers who are unable to skip their 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work for a day just to be able to receive the vaccine, most especially those whose salary is on a daily basis,\u201d said Belmonte.<\/p>\n

The “Bakuna Nights” is part of the (Covid-19) vaccination program of Quezon City that aims to help A4 workers with conflicting schedules and only available after their morning or daily shift.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the initial 4-day trial period of Bakuna Nights last week, 2,000 essential workers belonging to the A4 priority category, who have been preregistered with the city government, got vaccinated.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNow they don\u2019t have to choose between their daily wage or the vaccine. We will inoculate them at a time most convenient to them,\u201d Belmonte added.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the success of Bakuna Nights, QC Task Force Vax to Normal co-chair<\/strong> Joseph Juico<\/b> said that the program is currently on trial period due to the limited number of vaccines available.<\/p>\n

However, he reassured the public that once the local government receives more vaccines they eye to continue and to expand the program. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As classified by the Department of Health (DOH), the A4 category is subdivided as follows:<\/b><\/p>\n

A4.1 \u2013 Private sector workers who work outside their homes and overseas Filipino workers scheduled for deployment within four months;<\/p>\n

A4.2 \u2013 Employees in government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs) and local government units; and<\/p>\n

A4.3 \u2013 Informal sector workers and self-employed who work outside their homes and those working in private households.<\/p>\n
