A Family Legacy in Baking and Gelato<\/span><\/h2>\n

Caramia’s history began with the Moran family<\/strong>, whose background in the baking industry includes Tessie Moran’s experience at Red Ribbon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Following the sale of Red Ribbon to Jollibee in 2005<\/strong>, the family took over Amici<\/strong>, a pizza and pasta restaurant at Don Bosco. They later acquired gelato-making equipment from Italian priest Fr. Gianluigi Colombo<\/strong>, continuing the technique he used to prepare gelato at Amici Di Don Bosco.<\/p>\n

In 2009<\/strong>, the family established Caramia Cakes & Gelato<\/strong>, opening its first branch in Greenhills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Brothers Philip and Paolo Moran<\/strong> took active roles in the company’s development. Philip returned to the Philippines in 2009 to help lead its expansion, while Paolo, who received formal culinary training in Italy<\/strong>, oversees product development and innovation for Caramia and Amici.<\/p>\n

Its Glorietta branch officially opened on September 6, 2019<\/strong>, and the brand has since grown to approximately 70 locations nationwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
