Her father wanted a garden outside the family\u2019s restored home, but unfortunately, he passed away before it was done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"534\" height=\"800\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33753\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-9.jpg 534w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-9-146x218.jpg 146w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-9-401x600.jpg 401w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Imee Amboy, owner of Phil&#8217;s Brew<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Imee still fulfilled her father\u2019s wish, and her friends even stop by to leave seeds to grow for the garden. But in late 2014, when tourists started to flock in the island\u2014Imee, being the coffee lover that she is\u2014the coffee shop concept cocooned in the quaint garden came about.<\/p>\n<p>She then started decorating firewood as chairs and tables, marking the beginning of this one-woman cafe way back 2015.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s a neighborhood cafe, not much commercialized, with personal touch,\u201d Imee described. \u201cIt\u2019s very barriotic.\u201d She shared that her own kitchen is basically her work station.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33747\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-2-290x194.jpg 290w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/Phils-Brew-Batanes-2-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Dukayo (Php 120) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is one of her signature dishes, which is a combination of the local root crop called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dukay <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and sweetened coconut <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">bukayo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Its name is actually coined by one of the customers as she didn\u2019t know what to name it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Dukay resembles a cake, and it perfectly complements the slightly sweet bukayo.
