Empanada-making, specifically in Batac, Ilocos Norte, is said to have originated from no other than the \u201cMother of Batac Empanada,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Lola Nieves \u201cIbing\u201d Cocson Layaoen<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lola Ibing then passed down the Batac way of making the Spanish Empanada to her granddaughter, Lanie, who then established the most sought-after empanada store in Ilocos Norte- Lanie\u2019s Batac Special Empanada!<\/span><\/p>\n

Lanie\u2019s Special Empanada<\/b>\u00a0is a pastry that resembles that of a crunchy folded pizza, stuffed with locally produced vegetables such as mung beans, grated papaya, and other fillings like egg and longganisa.<\/span><\/p>\n
