The boom of tourists going to Vigan prompted the owners of Granpas\u2019 Inn to open up a restaurant that gave their guests a true Ilocandia experience. The name comes from the owner\u2019s mother and mentor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15435\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/interior2_resized.jpg\" alt=\"interior2_resized\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/interior2_resized.jpg 600w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/interior2_resized-290x193.jpg 290w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBlast from the past\u201d is the best way of describing Kusina Felicitas. Stepping through their doors takes you back to 18<sup>th<\/sup> century, with the restaurant retaining the same 18<sup>th<\/sup>-century materials used during the construction of the building it\u2019s housed in.<\/p>\n<p>Their dishes are inspired by other parts of Ilocandia (Abra, Ilocos Norte, La Union, Benguet, Kalinga, Cagayan, Apayao, and other towns in Ilocos Sur), giving customers a truly inclusive Ilocandia experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15437\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/pipian-manok.jpg\" alt=\"pipian manok\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of their best dishes is something that\u2019s unique to Ilocos Sur: the <em>Pipian na Manok<\/em> (chicken <em>pipian, <\/em>P180). It\u2019s a dish that\u2019s best described as <em>kare-kare <\/em>with a hint of <em>sinigang<\/em>. The soup\u2019s consistency is similar to that of <em>sinigang, <\/em>but the ingredients themselves resemble <em>kare-kare, <\/em>all except for the use of chicken and <em>pasotes<\/em> leaves (a tree found only in Ilocos Sur).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15434\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/sinanglao_resized.jpg\" alt=\"sinanglao_resized\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/sinanglao_resized.jpg 600w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/02\/sinanglao_resized-290x218.jpg 290w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>SINANGLAO (P190).
