Amici evolved from the service-from-the-heart initiative of Fr. Gianluigi Colombo, an Italian priest in charge of overseeing the operations of the Don Bosco Printing Press. In 1994, in support of the school\u2019s employees, he proposed to start a canteen in Don Bosco School to meet the need of the school\u2019s employees for an access to good food during lunch breaks. He got permitted and the result was an Italian delicatessen canteen called Amici di Don Bosco (Friends of Don Bosco). The school cafeteria became a business entity that served the employees and the students of the school. It was later on expanded as a franchise restaurant in Manila in 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amici means \u201cfriend\u201d in Italian, and the former friendly school canteen retained its amiable and cozy atmosphere even as it expanded its menu and market. Now, Amici\u2019s authentic Italian menu and friendly services have made it popular among local and foreign diners. Its pasta and pizza dough are homemade, and pizzas are baked in the traditional wood fired stone oven.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of their bestselling pasta dish is the Spaghetti Ai Tesori del Mare (P365 regular, P710 grande)<\/strong>, a mildly spicy feast of spaghetti tossed in fresh tomatoes, scallops, clams, mussels and chili oil.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is almost always packed and so it\u2019s best to make a reservation in advance. Delivery service is available for a minimum worth order of P500.<\/span><\/p>\n
