{"id":8130,"date":"2017-05-17T09:52:43","date_gmt":"2017-05-17T01:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/?p=8130"},"modified":"2017-05-17T18:54:00","modified_gmt":"2017-05-17T10:54:00","slug":"bahaghari-presents-cinemakulay-film-festival-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/2017\/05\/17\/bahaghari-presents-cinemakulay-film-festival-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Bahaghari presents CineMakulay Film Festival 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">In celebration of pride month, the national organization of Filipino lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders (LGBT), Bahaghari presents CineMakulay Film Festival 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8131\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2017\/05\/CineMakulay-2017.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>IMAGE\/ BAHAGHARI<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Happening on June 17 at the Cinematheque Centre Manila, the film festival will feature short and documentary films that tackle gender, justice, peace, and its importance to the current situation and struggle of members of the LGBT Community in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Bahaghari is still accepting film submissions until May 31. Everyone is allowed to join as long as the film&#8217;s concept\u00a0is in accordance or with relation to the festival&#8217;s theme. Amongst the themes \u00a0are gender discrimination, coming out, gender identity, class, justice, and labor, and HIV and health. Film screenings will start from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Admission is free.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Bahaghari believes that genuine equality could only be attained in a society that is truly free, democratic, and just.
