The Japan Foundation Manila is bringing Bunraku, the traditional puppet theatre of Japan this August 16, Tuesday at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This theatrical form is a blend of sung narrative, instrumental accompaniment and puppet drama dating back to the early Edo period (ca. 1600). Admission is all free on a first come first serve basis, so better come early at the venue to secure the best seat for you.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:00 – 5:00 PM (Matinee) – 200 seats available<\/span><\/p>\n

8:00 – 10:00 PM (Soiree) – 300 seats available<\/span><\/p>\n

*Please note that both shows will follow the same format and have the same content.<\/span><\/p>\n

To reserve a seat, you can contact CCP (Tel. 832-3706) or JFM at email@jfmo.org.ph. Please indicate your name, number of tickets and specify if it\u2019s for the 3pm or 8pm show. Unclaimed tickets 15 minutes prior to the show shall be relinquished to walk-in guests.<\/span><\/p>\n
