Manila Calling<\/strong>, a traveling exhibition project<\/strong> by Manila Collective Inc.<\/strong> as part of PASA PASA 2027<\/strong>, is set to connect Barcelona, Madrid, Manila, and Tokyo<\/strong> through a multi-city showcase running from May to July 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project brings together artists from various creative disciplines<\/strong>, including comics, fashion, illustration, tattoo, graffiti, and contemporary visual art. The title carries a dual meaning\u2014it is both a call from Manila and a call for artists from different communities to collaborate.<\/p>\n

At the center of Manila Calling is silk<\/strong>, with each artist\u2019s original works transformed into textile pieces that reinterpret the artwork through texture, movement, scale, and light. Rather than simply reproducing original pieces, the exhibition creates new versions shaped by the material itself.<\/p>\n

The first stop of the exhibition is the Manila Calling Pop-Up<\/strong> at B-Murals in Barcelona, Spain<\/strong>\u00a0on May 15 to 16, 2026<\/strong>. The opening day on May 15<\/strong> will run from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.<\/strong>, while the second day on May 16<\/strong> will run from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <\/strong>The Barcelona pop-up brings together artists from the Philippines, Spain, and Japan<\/strong>, highlighting a diverse mix of creative styles and backgrounds.<\/p>\n

Participating artists from the Philippines<\/strong> include Albert Raque\u00f1o, Apol Sta Maria, Auggie Fontanilla, Augustine Paredes, Bitto, CA, Digii Daguna, Doktor Karayom, Elle Shivers, Garapata, Gianne Encarnacion, Habunny, Hulyen, Hysteria 360, JC Mariategue, Jellyfishkisses, Jer Dee, Jeth Torres, Kita, Kurboi, Ladybugs, Mabuhay Maynila, Mich Cervantes, Mich Dulce, Pilipinas Street Plan, Prinsomnia, Proudrace, Quatro Los Ba\u00f1os, Randolf, Rob Cham, Salad Day, Santo Slogo, Sanv, Sig, Sobs Annix, Tilda, Tyang Karyel, and Zeus Bascon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Artists from Spain<\/strong> include 3TTMAN, Alberto de Blobs, Alice Maniscalco, Andrea Carandini, Aner, Ase Torralba, Barbara Alca, Emilio Cerezo, Escif, Foner, Fonsmote, GR170, Irino Studio, Jaiku, Leonka, Malarko, Mart\u00ed Sawe, Mina Hamada, Morise, Nano Abia, Polfish, Raph Diez, Roice183, Sabek, Salvaje Selva, SEA162, Sergi Vic, Suculara, Tiago Majuelos, Yubia, and Zosen Bandido.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Artists from Japan<\/strong> include FATE, Gotham Store, Hitotzuki, Imaone, Shutie, and Suiko.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following Barcelona, the exhibition heads to Espacio Amen<\/strong> from May 19 to 20<\/strong>, continuing its international run in Spain. The Manila leg will take place from June 6 to 27<\/strong> through the Silk Textile Exhibition<\/strong> at Centro de Turismo de Intramuros<\/strong>, bringing the project back to its home city.<\/p>\n

The exhibition then returns to Barcelona on July 4 to 5<\/strong> for Manila Collective x Flea Market Barcelona Manila Market<\/strong> at Potassi K-19 <\/strong>while the final stop of the exhibition will be held on July 25 to 26<\/strong> at Calif Art Gallery in Tokyo<\/strong>, concluding the project in Japan.<\/p>\n
