The spirit of summer festivals arrives early in the metro as the 24th Manila Japanese Association Bon Odori Festival<\/strong> takes center stage on March 7, 2026<\/strong>, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM<\/strong> at the Manila Japanese School in BGC, Taguig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Set to gather members of the Japanese community, Filipino friends, and culture enthusiasts alike, this much-anticipated celebration promises an evening filled with music, dance, food, and fireworks, all in the name of friendship and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n

More than just a Japanese festival, the Bon Odori is an event created, organized, and run by the Japanese community in Manila together with their Filipino friends. It is a meaningful gathering where guests are encouraged not only to watch but to truly take part: dancing, connecting, and experiencing how Japan and the Philippines come together through Bon Odori.<\/p>\n

The festive mood continues with live performances by popular Japanese performers loved by Filipinos, including fuyu (FuMi&YuKan)<\/strong>, Sky Garden<\/strong>, and Sharlla<\/strong>. Their appearances bring vibrant energy to the stage, blending contemporary entertainment with the traditional festival atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Guests can also indulge in authentic Japanese festival food prepared by Japanese and Japan-related vendors, offering a flavorful glimpse into Japan\u2019s beloved matsuri culture.<\/p>\n

As the night reaches its peak, a spectacular fireworks display will illuminate the sky, providing a dazzling finale that perfectly caps the celebration.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Bon Odori carries even greater significance as it forms part of the 70th Anniversary of Japan\u2013Philippines Friendship<\/strong>. It also marks the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines and is held as a commemorative event for the Japan-Philippines Friendship Year.<\/p>\n

Through this milestone celebration, the organizers hope to create an opportunity for many members of the Manila Japanese Association and Filipinos to deepen their friendship.<\/p>\n

Admission to the festival is priced at Php 100<\/strong>, while JAMI members and children 15 years old and below accompanied by an adult may enter free of charge.<\/p>\n

Advance tickets are sold in person only at the JAMI Office on the 22nd Floor of Trident Tower, with cash payment required. Guests are encouraged to secure tickets early, as entry restrictions may apply should the venue reach full capacity.<\/p>\n
