This November, Instituto Cervantes and Festival de Sevilla, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, will treat Filipino film buffs to the \u201cNew Cinephilias Online\u201d<\/strong>, a series of movies considered as \u201cThe Other Spanish Cinema\u201d, a label with which the generation who started working with cinema at the dawn of the 21st century was named.<\/p>\n

\"\"Ni\u00f1ato (Kid)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

This film cycle will be shown through the Instituto Cervantes channel on the Vimeo<\/strong> platform and is freely accessible for 48 hours from their start date and time.<\/p>\n

It will kick-off with the award-winning\u00a0documentary\u00a0Ni\u00f1ato (Kid)\u00a0<\/em>directed by Adri\u00e1n Orr\u00a0on November 7, 2020<\/strong>, at 3 a.m Manila time<\/strong> (November 6, Friday at 8 p.m. in Madrid)\u00a0until November 9.<\/p>\n

Ni\u00f1ato (Kid) <\/em>was\u00a0awarded as the Best Film during the 19th Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente (Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival).<\/p>\n

The\u00a0cycle will\u00a0continue on November 14, 2020<\/strong>, again at 3 a.m. Manila time, with the drama feature film\u00a0Ver a una mujer (To See a Woman)\u00a0<\/em>by M\u00f2nica Rovira.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Another feature film A estaci\u00f3n violenta (The Wild Season, 2018)<\/em> will be shown on Saturday, November 20, 2020<\/strong>, at 3 a.m. in Manila.<\/p>\n

This dazzling debut of Anxos Faz\u00e1ns, adapted from the homonymous novel by Manuel Jabois, showcases life in a city where there is no horizon other than that of an unhappy past and that of a lost generation. It is a story of silent loves, broken complicities, and mutual mistrust.<\/p>\n

\"\"A estaci\u00f3n violenta (The Wild Season)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, the well-crafted documentary directed by Xavier Artigas and Xapo Ortega, Idrissa, cr\u00f2nica d\u00b4una mort qualsevol (Idrissa, Chronicle of an Ordinary Death, 2019)<\/em> will conclude the film cycle on November 28, 2020<\/strong>, 3 a.m. Manila time until November 30.<\/p>\n

The film depicts how the Spanish legal system has made it nearly impossible to investigate the death of a 21-year-old Guinean migrant at the Centre d’Internament d’Estrangers de Barcelona (Foreigners Internment Center of Barcelona).<\/p>\n

All films will be in Spanish with English subtitles. Admission is\u00a0FREE.<\/strong><\/p>\n
