As we celebrate women empowerment this March, join the\u00a0Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)\u00a0in\u00a0cooperation with Women Playwrights International-Philippines (WPIP) as they\u00a0put the spotlight on\u00a0inspiring women playwrights and theater practitioners at the\u00a0Festival of Plays By Women<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Happening from March 6 to 8<\/strong> at the\u00a0CCP Studio Theater<\/strong>, the three-day event will feature stories by women through forums, readings, and featured performances.<\/p>\n

With the theme\u00a0\u201cEmpowerment, Diversity and Equality,\u201d the event aims to inspire\u00a0and encourage more women to write their own stories and believe in their own talents in the fields of writing, producing, and acting.<\/p>\n

It is also the\u00a0flagship project of the CCP\u2019s Gender and Development Committee for this year.<\/p>\n

Expected to grace the event are over 20 local and international speakers who will share their own stories of empowerment in their respective fields such as theater, dramatic readings, and talks.<\/p>\n

Included in the list of\u00a0speakers are\u00a0International Theatre Arts Educator from Argentina\u00a0Leticia Arbelo,\u00a0playwright Liza Magtoto,\u00a0Dean of College of Liberal Arts from De La Salle University\u00a0Dr. Jazmin B. Llana,\u00a0international playwright and theatre artist from Uganda\u00a0Achiro P. Olwoch, and playwright and founder\/president of WPIP\u00a0Malou Jacob among others.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the featured performances will be performed by different theater groups from various places around the country. Workshops, a creators\u2019 market, and interviews with renowned playwrights will also be held during the festival.<\/p>\n
