The Cultural Center of the Philippines<\/strong>\u00a0(CCP) presents Gaetano Donizetti’s tragic drama Lucia Di Lammermoor<\/strong> at the CCP Main Theater<\/strong>, Pasay City.<\/p>\n

The gala night<\/strong> will take place on January 31, 2020<\/strong> at 8 p.m.<\/strong> while the matinee<\/strong> will be held on February 2, 2020<\/strong> at 3 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lucia Di Lammermoor revolves around the story of Lucia Ashton\u00a0<\/strong>who’s having a secret affair with Edgardo Ravenswood<\/strong>\u00a0due to conflict between their families. Lucia was forced by her brother Enrico to marry another nobleman, Arturo who then told Lucia that Edgardo\u00a0has married someone else.<\/p>\n

Because of deep sadness, Lucia lost her sanity. Edgardo finds out about the wedding and cursed Lucia on the day of the wedding.\u00a0 After the wedding, Lucia kills Arturo in their wedding bed while Edgardo meets Enrico at the tombs of Ravenswood for a duel. Lucia collapses and dies. When Edgardo knows of her death, he stabs himself to join Lucia in heaven.<\/p>\n

French soprano Melody Louledjian<\/strong> will take the leading role of Lucia while\u00a0Filipino-American bel canto tenor\u00a0Arthur Espiritu<\/strong>\u00a0will star as Edgardo.<\/p>\n

The rest of the outstanding cast, which is mainly composed of performers from Italy and Manila, includes\u00a0Korean Baritone Byeong In Park, Chinese Bass Shi Zong, Filipina mezzo-soprano Camille Lopez Molina, Filipino tenor Ivan Nery, Viva Voce, and the country’s pioneer orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lucia Di Lammermoor is conducted by Maestro Alessandro Palumbo<\/strong> and is directed by\u00a0Vincenzo Grisostomi Travaglini<\/strong> with Assistant Director\u00a0Prince Sisowath Ravivaddhana Monipong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
