With “art+design”, Gavel&Block<\/strong> opens the celebration of Salcedo Auctions’ 10th year anniversary<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0February 8, 2020<\/strong> at\u00a0Salcedo Auctions Headquarters, Makati City.\u00a0<\/strong>This sale will showcase a curated selection of nearly 300 collectibles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"art+design<\/strong> focuses on the people who have the potential of putting up their perfect pieces and start their own collections. They also put their concentration on established\u00a0experts in the field of the auction to add depth to their troves. It features decorative art, crystal, porcelain, silver, rare books, maps, and memorabilia.<\/p>\n

The auction will show off some great works from renowned modern and contemporary Filipino artists like Fernando Amorsolo<\/strong>, Jose Joya<\/strong>, and BenCab<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Among the must-see collections at the auction include\u00a0refined heirloom pieces made of jade and semi-precious stones,\u00a0cocktail jewelry,\u00a0and crystal, limoges bone china, and baroque silver epergnes.<\/p>\n

Abstract works such as Nena Saguil’s ethereal watercolors<\/strong>, Roberto Chabet’s three early paintings<\/strong>, and pieces from Gus Albor<\/strong> and Romulo Olazo\u00a0<\/strong>are also included in the display.<\/p>\n

The folk-genre presence will also fill Salcedo Auctions headquarters through Oscar Zalameda<\/strong>, Angelito Antonio<\/strong>, Tam Austria<\/strong>, Cesar Buenaventura<\/strong>, Elias Laxa<\/strong>, and Simeon Saulong<\/strong>. These artists also serve as historical counterpoints to the works of leading contemporary artists like Jigger Cruz<\/strong>, Zean Cabangis<\/strong>, and Jayson Oliveria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Late performer artist Carlo Celdran<\/strong>‘s pair of drawings and sketches that mirror his cultural activism are also one of what is worth noting in this sale. His inclusion is a recognition of his legacy and a tribute to a burgeoning artistic career.<\/p>\n
