Happening from <strong>March 20 to 29, 2020<\/strong>, at the <strong>CCP Main Theater, Pasay City<\/strong>, the ballet breathes new life to the Ramayana, one of the two major Sanskrit epics of Ancient India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The production celebrates the undeniable talent of Filipinos in dance, song, and story-telling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27588\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/01\/RamaHariPoster.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/01\/RamaHariPoster.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/01\/RamaHariPoster-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/01\/RamaHariPoster-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This production is quite unique as it brings to the stage a dance-musical that is the product of four of the country&#8217;s National Artists, namely <strong>Bienvenido Lumbera<\/strong>\u00a0for the Libretto, <strong>Ryan Cayabyab<\/strong>\u00a0for the music, <strong>Salvador Bernal<\/strong>\u00a0for the Production Design and <strong>Alice Reyes<\/strong>\u00a0for the choreography and direction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Rama, Hari is based on the Ramayana, a Sanskrit epic that details the life of Rama\u2014the legendary prince of the Koshal Kingdom. The Ramayana, along with the Mah\u0101bh\u0101rata forms the Hindu Itihasa (Itihasa can be translated to &#8220;history&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/balletphilippines\/videos\/1197526057084674\/<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It was first staged by Ballet Philippines in 1980 starring Kuh Ledesma, Basil Valdez, and Leo Valdez. Since then, the mega-production has become a classic with its innovative form of story-telling that brings together singers and dancers into a showcase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The production was also staged in 2012 starring Christian Bautista and OJ Mariano as Rama, Karylle Tatlonghari and Kalila Aguilos as Sita and Robert Sena as Ravana.
