Thomas, Manila<\/strong> from <strong>December 2 to 5, 2019<\/strong>, and at the <strong>Gateway Cineplex Cinema 4, Quezon City<\/strong> from <strong>December 6 to 8.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"534\" height=\"800\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26941\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/TodayIsOurFuture_Poster.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/TodayIsOurFuture_Poster.jpg 534w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/TodayIsOurFuture_Poster-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A first of its kind in Manila, the\u00a0<strong>SDG Documentary Film Festival 2019<\/strong>\u00a0commemorates\u00a0<strong>International Human Rights Day <\/strong>on December 10 by\u00a0bringing awareness to sustainable development as a responsibility and a human right through a series of documentaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Six international documentary films will be shown highlighting a specific Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Here&#8217;s a quick summary of the films that will be presented at the film festival:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>The Green Lie (2017)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Green Lie Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/e_AY6p3KZ8I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Directed by Werner Boote, <strong>The Green Lie<\/strong> highlights SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). The documentary debunks the &#8220;dangerous&#8221; lie of big companies who tell the public that they can save the world by buying the &#8220;right stuff&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>The War Show (2016)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The War Show | Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6awfy2M6y9E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This film by Andreas Dalsgaard puts focus on SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). The documentary film takes us to 2011 where radio host Obaidah Zytoon and her friends take the streets to join the protests against President Bashar al-Asaad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>The War Show<\/strong>\u00a0captures the fate of Syria through the intimate view of a small circle of friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Thinking Like a Mountain (2018)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Trailer | Thinking Like a Mountain | Alexander Hick\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6vvjzROQBSA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The film covers four SDGs, namely SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Directed by Alexander Hick, <strong>Thinking Like a Mountain<\/strong> follows the Arhuacos, guardians of the forest and the ice of Colombia&#8217;s highest mountain.\u00a0This film<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>puts a particular highlight on the collision of two cultures and the portrait of indigenous life in the present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Why We Cycle (2017)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Why We Cycle (Trailer)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hs_aqm0j7jI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In this film by Arne Gielen and Gert Jan Hulster, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) takes the stage in a story that puts focus on cycling and how it is a part of the lives of the Dutch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Why We Cycle<\/strong> documentary takes audiences on a ride with ordinary cyclists and specialists as they uncover how cycling affects people, societies, and the organization of cities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>The Feminister (2018)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Feminister - TOAFF19 Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/58zkPflLaEE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This film by Viktor Nordenski\u00f6ld highlights SDG 5 (Gender Equality) in coverage of Margot Wallstr\u00f6m&#8217;s four years in office as the Swedish foreign minister.
