The Nutcracker<\/strong> is an iconic tale that is usually presented during the holiday season and the Philippine Ballet Theatre (PBT)<\/strong> will be breathing life into this tale from November 23 to 24, 2019<\/strong>, at the CCP Main Theater, Pasay City<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The company will be re-staging the version that was created by world-renowned Prima Ballerina Gelsey Kirkland, specifically for PBT. The production will also feature refreshed choreography by Artistic Director Ronilo Jaynario who infused his own brand of athleticism to the production.<\/p>\n

PBT will be bringing back their extraordinary set-pieces as their talented company performs to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The Nutcracker’s stellar cast includes Regina Magbitang, Kim Abrogena, Veronica Atienza, Matthew Davo, and Jared Tan who will be returning to PBT to perform as The Prince.<\/p>\n

It’s also worth noting that this will be Tan’s first full-length show since his return to Manila.<\/p>\n

PBT’s new take on classic The Nutcracker will take their audiences on a journey to the Land of Sweets where they’ll be introduced to some of the world’s sugary delicacies. The performances include Arabian Coffee, Russian Trepak, and the Spanish Chocolates.<\/p>\n

The Nutcracker is a two-act ballet that was first performed in 1892 with choreography from Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a musical score from Pyotr Tchaikovsky.<\/p>\n
