Soak up some of the richness that’s innate to Hungary’s culture starting November 14 until 17, 2019<\/strong>, as Shangri-La Plaza brings the Hungarian Film Festival<\/strong> for the third time around in its Red Carpet Cinema<\/strong> in\u00a0Mandaluyong City.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In its 3rd year, the film festival will feature five full-length films\u2014which we made a quick rundown of:<\/p>\n

Kincsem: Bet on Revenge<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Kinscem: Bet on Revenge<\/strong> is a period melodrama crafted by the director Gabor Herendi,\u00a0<\/strong>a film\u00a0that foremost actuates the life narrative of the historically unbeaten racehorse Kinscem who has the most number of wins among his kind.<\/p>\n

To date, it is deemed not only as Hungary’s most expensive local production but as the biggest box-office hit in the country’s film spectrum encompassing the\u00a0last 10 years as well.<\/p>\n

Moscow Square (Moszkva T\u00e9r)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Somehow taking the shape of a coming-of-age film despite being under the romantic comedy genre, Moscow Square<\/strong> traverses the tale of carefree high school students who are living in their own bubble amid the fall of Communism in Hungary back in 1989.<\/p>\n

It is directed by then-newbie\u00a0Ferenc T\u00f6r\u00f6k and was notably esteemed as the Best Debut Film in the\u00a02001 Hungarian Film Week.<\/p>\n

Brazils (Brazilok)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Brazils<\/strong>\u00a0highlights the journey of a gypsy team\u2014who call themselves Brazilians\u2014into whatever the future holds as they finally find themselves granted with the permission to partake in the\u00a0football championship of their village.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Released in 2017, it is an adventure rom-com directed by Csaba M. Kiss and G\u00e1bor Rohonyi.<\/p>\n

Genesis (Genezis)<\/strong>

Genesis\u00a0<\/strong>dramatically paints the visible picture of resurgence with great reference to the events that were intertwined by the attacks of
\nHungarian neo-Nazis\u00a0on Roma villages.<\/p>\n

Some of the most prominent accolades the film was a recipient of include the Special Jury Award for Best Film in the\u00a0Sofia International Film Festival 2018; Media Choice Award for Filmmaker in the Shanghai International Film Festival 2019; and the Agiscuola Award, Best Cinematography, as well as the Cineuropa Award in the Festival del Cinema Europeo 2019.<\/p>\n

Tales from the Lakeside<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Dubbed in the universal language of English, Tales from the Lakeside<\/strong> is a light yet meaningful animated film that follows the story of how a tiny, heroic, and lakeside creature defends their exclusive patch in the vast the world\u2014and everything in between\u2014primarily by means of his innate curiosity and wit.<\/p>\n
