Once again, the Philippine and the German flags will stand side by side amid spaetzles and pretzels\u00a0from\u00a0October 17 to 19, 2019<\/strong>\u00a0at Solaire Resort & Casino<\/strong>, fueled by wheat beer from the\u00a0world’s oldest brewery,\u00a0Weihenstephan,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0authentic Bavarian food by no other than\u00a0Michael Dinges<\/strong>,\u00a0Solaire’s Vice President for Culinary.<\/p>\n

Sticking to traditions<\/h3>\n

This year’s Oktoberfest is yet again expected to replicate the one great tent that stands on the\u00a0Theresienwiese in Munich.<\/p>\n

Said event ground was named after Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen, whose marriage was where the tradition of Oktoberfest originated from.<\/p>\n

Tobias Rast<\/strong>, president of German Club Manila, expressed his\u00a0great pleasure of holding their 81st Oktoberfest at Solaire as\u00a0last year’s celebration broke stunning records of\u00a0food and beer\u00a0consumption (not so much as the Germans’ 4 to 5 liters of beer per person, but impressive enough).<\/p>\n

When asked if they’ll be sticking to traditions, Tobias related how deep-rooted the Oktoberfest in Munich is, which makes it\u00a0one of the most-awaited, authentic German celebrations\u00a0annually.<\/p>\n

Further, Chef Dinges also believes in\u00a0following in the steps of the 80th Oktoberfest, as he\u00a0was pleased with the people’s reception of the Bavarian food from his own family recipes.<\/p>\n

“German food was well-received last year, and we want to build it up,” Chef Dinges said.<\/p>\n

As authentic German bread and pretzels in baskets and sausages in platters were served, Eiffelene Salvador, one of the hosts of Oktoberfest, signaled the beginnings of\u00a0a grand celebration\u00a0together with\u00a0co-host, Michael Scheile, Tobias Rast, Chef Dinges, and\u00a0Solaire Vice President of Food & Beverage, Knut Becker.<\/p>\n
