Top-billing with Luna\u2019s tantalizing portrait of a \u201cpretty young lady\u201d is Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo\u2019s<\/strong> evocative mother-and-daughter painting \u201cThe Country Women.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This valuable work is exemplary not only because it once belonged to art patron Luis Araneta but\u00a0also that it has been an important feature in Alfredo Roces\u2019 scholarship on Hidalgo\u2019s body of work.<\/p>\n

Said quintessential masterpieces are joined by paintings of Fernando Amorsolo<\/strong> spanning his illustrious career as a master of the Filipino psyche.<\/span><\/p>\n
