Unroll your mats and get ready for two days filled with exciting jiu-jitsu as <\/span>Arte Sauve Manila<\/b> comes back on its fifth year this <\/span>October 19<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>20, 2019<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jiu-jitsu fighters, coaches, and martial arts enthusiasts from all over the country will come together for the competition and expo to be held at <\/span>Commencenter, Alabang<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For this year\u2019s event,<\/span> Faiza Roxa Grand Prix<\/b> will be added\u00a0to the line-up of activities for the first day. This means that instead of the regular single-elimination format, the six light to middleweight Purple Belt jiu-jiteiros invited to compete must work their way up from the preliminaries (round-robin) to the eliminations (quarters and semis) to secure a spot in the finals.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFaiza Roxa Grand Prix is Arte Suave Manila\u2019s way to let the athletes battle-test their technique along with their physical and mental condition,\u201d said Franco Rulloda, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and president of Triumvirate Fighting, the producer of the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another addition to this year\u2019s Arte Suave is the <\/span>juvenile matches.<\/b> Happening on the second day, the mixed-gender gi competitions will be four age divisions of next generation jiu-jiteiros: 6 to 8, 9 to 11, 12 to 14, and 15 to 17.<\/span><\/p>\n

The highly-popular<\/span> Arte Suave Superfights<\/b>, the 10-minute submissions-only exhibition matches, will be retained for no-gi and will also happen on the second day of the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

With regards to the expo, expect jiu-jitsu and MMA apparel and gear brands to headline with a mix of mainstays and new players. Arte Suave Manila will also open the exhibit to lifestyle brands that want to bring their products or services to the martial arts demographic.<\/span><\/p>\n

A number of fighters who joined Arte Suave Manila\u2019s previous competitions and super fights have been dominating the international jiu-jitsu circuit, with some even making the cut to qualify for the Philippine National Jiu-Jitsu Team.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe only way for Filipino jiu-jiteiros to continue to rise on the world stage is by helping one another right at home,\u201d Rulloda shared. \u201cWe are all united by the gentle art.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Registration to Arte Suave Manila 2019 is currently open until October 6<\/strong>. Gi is open to adult male and female White and Blue Belt competitors, while No Gi is open to adult male and female Beginner and Advanced grapplers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The registration fee of Php 1,700<\/strong>\u00a0per individual competitor already covers both gi and no-gi events. <\/span><\/p>\n
