She later originated the role of<strong> Kim in Miss Saigon<\/strong> for both the West End and Broadway productions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Aside from being the <strong>first Asian woman<\/strong> to win a<strong> Tony Award<\/strong>, Salonga also won the <strong>Olivier and Theatre World Awards<\/strong> for her role as Kim.
