For the first time ever, Educating for Life<\/strong> (EFL) presents the 2018 Philippine Homeschool Convention<\/strong> (PHC) this September 22<\/strong> at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier in Taguig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the theme \u201cOn Fire\u201d\u2014following the quotation commonly attributed to the poet William Yeats \u201cThe mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled\u201d\u2014the upcoming convention is a call to all Filipino homeschoolers, parents and children alike, to make a difference in a world that seems unfilled of hope, empathy, and compassion.<\/p>\n

Since 2014, EFL,\u00a0formed by four homeschooling moms, has been organizing events for all individuals or groups that are into homeschooling. They believe that their approach to education is characterized not only by filling children\u2019s mind but aiming for character building that goes beyond academics. More than that, EFL strives to guide the children to find what fuels them, igniting the passions and vocations with a hope that they find their meaning and purpose in life.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, this year\u2019s Philippine Homeschool Convention features inspirational speakers<\/strong>\u2014both international and local\u2014and seasoned homeschooling parents who aim to rally all homeschoolers to \u201cLight the Fire\u201d, \u201cFan the Flame,\u201d and \u201cSpread the Fire\u201d of homeschooling within their families and communities.<\/p>\n

Among them are homeschool student-turned-homeschooling veteran mom and advocate Cassandra Shepherd from New Zealand\/Singapore, homeschooling dad, bestselling author and sought-after motivational speaker Jayson Lo, veteran homeschooling mom, author, and speaker at major U.S. homeschool conventions Dr. Teresa Moon from the U.S., and homeschool coach and author of the first homeschooling book in the Philippines Nove-Ann Tan.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the PHC, similar to conferences in previous years, will have an expo of more than 50 merchants featuring educational toys and materials, tutorials, and classes that aim to support homeschoolers, and even non-homeschoolers.<\/p>\n
