With a deep appreciation for nature and the people whose income and life depend on it, Schoenfelder’s exhibit is titled, A Symphony of Colors.

Born in 1944 in Dresden, Germany, shortly before the end of WW II, Schoenfelder has always been interested in arts and has dreamed to be either a musician, a painter, or a writer. He joined the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for more than forty years, most of these years are time spent in foreign countries. During this time, he followed his original aspirations in painting and writing. Wherever he was stationed and had the time, he painted either landscape, motivated by nature, or people and their daily work. Several successful exhibitions encouraged him to continue with his artistic line even after retirement.

Soon, he found the Philippines to be his favorite place and has stayed to live in the country surrounded by water and forests. “This beautiful environment and nice people as well give me the right inspiration I need for my work,” Schoenfelder writes on his website.

In A Symphony of Colors, colorful surroundings create an attractively balanced perspective and contribute a distinct character in his works. He views the sun as the mother of all life and the moon as its nightly replacement – which is evident in most of his paintings.
