Conversations, <\/strong>Art Basel\u2019s talks series that runs alongside the fair, will bring together a strong line up of leading art world figures to participate in a wide range of panels and discussions in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

Free to the public, this year\u2019s program consists of 26 talks, addressing highly relevant art industry topics such as the future of public and private collecting, alternative business models for galleries, current developments within the art market in Asia, as well as gender politics in the arts.<\/p>\n

The program will feature prominent artists from across the world such as Sophia Al-Maria, Rasheed Araeen, Astha Butail, Samuel Fosso, Guerrilla Girls, Antony Gormley, He Xiangyu, Kim Yong-Ik, Yurie Nagashima, Gabriel Orozco, Lisa Reihana, Nilima Sheikh, Timur Si-Qin, Melati Suryodarmo, Charwei Tsai, Anton Vidokle, and Yu Hong.<\/p>\n

Conversations are held daily from Wednesday, March 28 to Saturday, March 31, 2018\u00a0at the Auditorium, Level 1, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Art Basel, whose Lead Partner is UBS, takes place at the HKCEC from March 29 to March 31, 2018.<\/p>\n

The 21st century has seen the emergence of a new generation of galleries seeking to innovate the traditional gallery model. ‘Working Models | Developing Gallery Structures’ brings together Vanessa Carlos, Founder, Carlos\/Ishikawa; Hormoz Hematian, Founder, Dastan\u2019s Basement; Mimi Chun, Founder and Director, Blindspot Gallery; and Young Chung, Founder, Commonwealth and Council for an open conversation on the future of the gallery system, moderated by Isa Lorenzo, Founder, Silverlens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Conversations will be free to the public including non-ticket holders. The talks will be accessible in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. All Conversations panels will also be available on Art Basel\u2019s YouTube channel and on the show\u2019s website at artbasel.com\/hongkong\/conversations.<\/p>\n
