Elmer Borlongan or Emong, as many art enthusiasts call him, is a renowned Filipino contemporary artist who is best known for his social realist paintings which draw attention to the common people, especially those in the lower class of the society. His paintings inspire discourse on the harsh realities of living in the present society as an ordinary Filipino.<\/p>\n

Emong will hold an artist talk, wherein he will personally discuss the inspiration behind his ongoing exhibition at the Met, “Elmer Borlongan: An Extraordinary Eye for the Ordinary.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
