{"id":12308,"date":"2017-11-23T08:20:04","date_gmt":"2017-11-23T00:20:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/?p=12308"},"modified":"2017-11-23T10:07:35","modified_gmt":"2017-11-23T02:07:35","slug":"muhon-exhibit-at-the-metropolitan-museum-of-manila-until-dec-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/2017\/11\/23\/muhon-exhibit-at-the-metropolitan-museum-of-manila-until-dec-29\/","title":{"rendered":"Muhon Exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila until Dec. 29"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1980, the\u00a0<strong>Venice Biennale of Architecture\u00a0<\/strong>offers an opportunity for architects and designers to showcase new projects, arranged in different pavilions, each with different themes.<\/p>\n<p>This year,\u00a0the Metropolitan Museum of Manila\u00a0will hold\u00a0<strong>MUHON: Traces of an Adolescent City,\u00a0<\/strong>an exhibit which\u00a0explores the past, the present, and the future of nine place-markers and monuments of\u00a0the country&#8217;s urban landscape.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12309\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/event\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2017\/11\/22687931_861035054067476_2487711203938345387_n.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Muhon is co-presented by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the\u00a0Metropolitan Museum of Manila, the\u00a0Department of Foreign Affairs Republic of the Philippines, and the Office of\u00a0Senator Loren Legarda. The exhibit is until Dec. 29, 2017. Muhon is the Philippines first entry to Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2016<\/p>\n<p>Symbolically, the construction of a &#8220;muhon&#8221; can be considered an act of affirming one\u2019s existence: it conveys the idea of staking a claim in the universe. Locsin Partners (LVLP), selected 9 architects and artists to participate in the exhibition. The architects<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> featured are Eduardo Calma, LIMA Architecture, Ma\u00f1osa &amp; Company, Inc., 8&#215;8 Design Studio Co., C|S Design Consultancy, Inc., and Jorge Yulo.
