Curated for a contemporary audience, the close to 300 objects in space which will be going under the Gavel&Block include Philippine and international\u00a0works of\u00a0<\/span>art such as paintings, drawings, fine prints, and sculpture, as well as furniture, fashion, and d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n

In line with Gavel&Block\u2019s mission to grow the art and collectibles market to an increasingly affluent audience, they have invited SoFA Design Institute, one of the country’s leading providers of art and design education, as the sale\u2019s preview partner. Faculty members from the school’s Interior Design Program will each curate a space within the saleroom, showcasing unique perspectives and aesthetic sensibilities through their respective vignettes.<\/p>\n

Touching on various approaches to design, contemporary paintings and sculpture by artists such as Andres Barrioquinto, Jigger Cruz, Marcel Antonio, Luis Lorenzana, and Jason Montinola will be presented alongside fine art prints and works on paper by Philippine masters including BenCab, Cesar Legaspi, Arturo Luz, H.R. Ocampo, Mauro Malang Santos, Fernando Z\u00f3bel and Anita Magsaysay-Ho, and international luminaries such as Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso.<\/p>\n

A week-long preview of space<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0is being held at the Salcedo Auctions main saleroom until Friday, 20 October, from 10 am – 6 pm.
