Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, CEO, and artistic director of Ballet Manila, for the 22nd performance season of the country\u2019s leading classical dance company, invites everyone to Flights of Fantasy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An original production with the help of internationally award-winning dancers, musicians, and costume. Flights of Fantasy consists of two original performances, Ibong Adarna and Swan Lake. \u00a0One of the company\u2019s principal dancers will be choreographed by the multi-awarded choreographer Gerardo Francisco.<\/p>\n

Ibong Aradna is set to bring\u00a0to life the magical kingdom of Berbanya\u00a0with flying scenes that revives the well-known classical piece. The said play will feature Gia Macuja-Atchison, a\u00a0West End<\/em>\u00a0star, as the voice of\u00a0Ibong Adarna<\/em>, and will also showcase music by Diwa de Leon, set and costume design by Make It Happen Workshop,\u00a0and script by Angela Blardony-Ureta.<\/p>\n

The much-awaited\u00a022nd\u00a0<\/sup>Performance Season will open on August 26, 2017.\u00a0Ibong Adarna will be shown at Aliw Theater on\u00a0August 26\u00a0and September\u00a02 at 6:00\u00a0pm, and on\u00a0August 27\u00a0and September\u00a03 at 3:00\u00a0pm.<\/p>\n

Following Ibong Adarna is Swan Lake<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>the popular and classic ballet features the original Lev Ivanov choreography for the white acts and\u00a0a\u00a0brand-new\u00a0set design by Miguel Faustmann. It will also feature master and composer\u00a0Peter\u00a0Tchaikovsky, the said production is a showcase of the company\u2019s commitment to have at least one classical ballet in its repertoire every season and ode to its Vaganova roots.<\/p>\n

Show schedules are October\u00a07 and October\u00a014\u00a0at\u00a06:00\u00a0pm and\u00a0October\u00a08 and October\u00a015 at\u00a03:00\u00a0pm.<\/p>\n
