{"id":9637,"date":"2016-11-15T12:00:53","date_gmt":"2016-11-15T04:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=9637"},"modified":"2016-11-15T10:55:38","modified_gmt":"2016-11-15T02:55:38","slug":"fusion-of-action-in-epic-adventure-movie-the-warriors-gate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2016\/11\/15\/fusion-of-action-in-epic-adventure-movie-the-warriors-gate\/","title":{"rendered":"Fusion of action in epic adventure movie &#8220;The Warrior&#8217;s Gate&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Luc Besson, producer of the highly successful blockbuster \u201cTaken\u201d movies comes his latest high-budget action film \u201cThe Warrior\u2019s Gate\u201d starring Dave Bautista and Uriah Shelton with Chinese actors Mark Chao and Ni Ni.<\/p>\n<p>In \u201cThe Warrior\u2019s Gate,\u201d American teenager Jack Bronson (Shelton) is magically transported to ancient China, where he must become a hero and rescue a beautiful princess (Ni Ni) from the clutches of the evil barbarian king (Bautista).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9639\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/11\/THE-WARRIORS-GATE-Uriah-Shelton-and-Ni-Ni.jpg\" alt=\"WG_05441_CROP.jpg\" width=\"636\" height=\"494\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jack Bronson lives in a part-time visual world.\u00a0 Bullied at school and on the pumptrack, he lives with his single mom, who\u2019s struggling to meet her mortgage payments.\u00a0 So every chance he gets, Jack escapes into the world of computer games\u00a0 &#8211; via his fearless avatar, the Black Knight.\u00a0 Soon, his adventures become real when Mr. Chang, owner of an antique shop where Jack helps out after school, gives him a family heirloom \u2013 a mysterious chest.\u00a0\u00a0 The chest as Jack discovers, is a gateway to another world.\u00a0 Through the help of the chest, Jack soon discovers his warrior within when he is tasked to protect a princess from ancient China.<\/p>\n<p>Director Matthias Hoene helms \u201cThe Warrior\u2019s Gate\u201d under Luc Besson producing.\u00a0 A huge Luc Besson fan, Hoene notes that one element that runs through all Besson\u2019s productions is their consistently astonishing characters, \u201cAnd this movie is no exception.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-9640\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/11\/THE-WARRIORS-GATE-Dave-Bautista-1.jpg\" alt=\"the-warriors-gate-dave-bautista\" width=\"633\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat makes this story strong is that it starts in the very relatable, modern context of middle America, with a kid we can all identify with,\u201d Hoene observes.\u00a0 \u201cLike most of us, Jack loves escaping into the world of computer games.\u00a0 And his computer game suddenly becomes reality.\u00a0 It\u2019s not about the joypad anymore, now it\u2019s about real might.\u00a0 I think that\u2019s a very universal story.\u00a0 As a teenager, that was certainly my dream.\u00a0 So I think it\u2019s a great set-up.\u00a0 On one hand, we\u2019re capturing the exotic nature of China and the amazing craftsmanship and actors we have here.\u00a0 On the other, we have access to EuropaCorp\u2019s (Besson\u2019s production studio) very cool editing, cinematography, color correction and music facilities, and a great script by Luc Besson and Robert Kramen.\u00a0 So all the ingredients for success are there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Warrior\u2019s Gate\u201d opens <span>November 23<\/span> in cinemas from Pioneer Films.
