The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) officially introduced the cast and artistic staff of The<\/em> Tempest Reimagined<\/em>\u2014a Filipino adaptation of the Shakespeare classic: The Tempest<\/em>\u2014on October 24 (Monday), 2016 at PETA Theater in Quezon City.<\/p>\n

In partnership with The British Council and Japan Foundation, this world-class production will feature award-winning artists from the United Kingdom, Japan, and Hong Kong together with the country\u2019s very own talented Filipino artists.<\/p>\n

The Tempest Reimagined<\/em> follows the plot of original Shakespeare text with modern adaptation using real stories from survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). It tells\u00a0the stories of a wizard in exile named Prospero, and Jaime, a fisherman native to Leyte, who tells the story of a mystical storm.<\/p>\n

The play is directed by Nona Shepphard, artistic director of Royal Academy for Dramatic Art, and is co-written by PETA artist-teacher Liza Magtoto. Its production is completed by the costume and set design of Hong Kong-based British artist Marsha Roddy and stagecraft of Lights designer Tsuguo Izumi.<\/p>\n
