Award-winning luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Cond\u00e9 Nast (CN) Traveler<\/em> ranked the best islands in the world outside the U.S. in the 2016 Readers\u2019 Choice Award survey, with the Philippines’ Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu on the top 5 of the 20 islands on the list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming in at the fifth place is Cebu, with CN Traveler describing it as \u201cmore personal, with plenty of up-and-coming restaurants and shopping.\u201d It also noted that Cebu is famous for its beaches on the mainland as well as across many of the surrounding islands.<\/span><\/p>\n

Placing second is Palawan, which has repeatedly topped CN Traveler\u2019s list. CN Traveler wrote that Palawan is now one of the new seven natural wonders of the world with Puerto Princesa Subterranean River.<\/span><\/p>\n

Topping the list is Boracay Island found at the Western Philippines, described by CN Traveler as \u201cclose to a tropical idyll you\u2019ll find in Southeast Asia, with gentle coastlines and transporting sunsets.\u201d As the top tourist spot in the region, Boracay was also recognized for its nightlife scene and White Beach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other islands included in the list are St. Lucia, St. John USVI, British Virgin Islands, Santorini in Greece, Ibiza in Spain, Tahiti in French Polynesia, Sardinia in Italy, Cayman Islands, St. Barts, Mykonos in Greece, Bali in Indonesia, Crete in Greece, Bermuda, Turks and Caicos, Vancouver Island in Canada, Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands in Australia, and Mallorca in Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n
