Imagine the excitement of Filipino anime fans when TV Asahi announced that they will be producing <strong>Barangay<\/strong> <strong>143<\/strong> (\u30d0\u30e9\u30f3\u30ac\u30a4 143), a basketball-based anime set in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8217\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/09\/0923N-Barangay-143_article_main_image.jpg\" alt=\"0923n-barangay-143_article_main_image\" width=\"580\" height=\"409\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>SET FOR 2017. What is known is that TV Asahi, the company behind <em>Doraemon<\/em>, is working with local animation and game development studio Synergy88.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">According to an article on <a href=\"http:\/\/asia.nikkei.com\/Life-Arts\/Arts\/Asian-partners-help-anime-cast-broader-spell-outside-Japan\" target=\"_blank\">Nikkei Asian Review<\/a>, TV Asahi will be in charge of character design as they will be working closely with Japanese anime directors. Synergy88, on the other hand, will be in charge of production and scriptwriting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The show will air in 2017 in a primetime slot, making it a big project for both companies to embark in.
