Reflections is, quite literally, a reflection of how people live in Asia.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Reflections <\/em>is an omnibus film that depicts the lives of characters who journey between Japan and other Asian countries. It brings together three talented directors to create a series of omnibus films that revolve around a common theme, with this year\u2019s being \u201cLiving in Asia\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;Asian Three-fold Mirror 2016 : Reflections&quot; Trailer English Ver.\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tFVoP9K_vqM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>THREE FILMS THAT SHOWCASE how Asians live their daily lives: that\u2019s what Reflections is all about.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">For <em>Reflections, <\/em>three brilliant directors were chosen to create the omnibus film: <strong>Brillante Mendoza<\/strong> from the Philippines, Isao Yukisada from Japan, and <strong>Sotho Kulikar<\/strong> from Cambodia. Each director was asked to include a character that is connected in some manner to an Asian country other than their birthplace. All films were shot on location in an Asian country of the director\u2019s choosing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Reflections <\/em>is a first for the TIFF, as they have never gone into film production since its inception. A story of an illegal Filipino immigrant in Japan who returns to his homeland for the first time in decades after deportation.
