(Image grabbed from executivechronicles.com)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Philippines garnered an overall rating of 35.0, placing in the 20<sup>th<\/sup> spot as one of the happiest nations in the world according to HPI by the New Economics Foundation, United Kingdom\u2019s (UK) leading think tank. To get the rating, the HPI measures four factors namely well-being (how satisfied are the residents of the said country), life expectancy (average number of years expected to live), inequality of outcomes (inequality between how long people live and how happy they feel), and ecological footprint (impact of a resident places on the environment).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Philippines scored 5.0\/10 for well-being, ranking 83<sup>rd<\/sup>, life expectancy is at 67.9 years ranking 98<sup>th<\/sup>, ecological footprint of 1.1 global hectares ranking 16<sup>th<\/sup>, and inequality of outcomes that made it rank 90<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Other countries that made it to the Top 20 list are Costa Rica, topping the list with a 44.7 HPI score. The remaining countries are Mexico, Colombia, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Panama, Nicaragua, Bangladesh, Thailand, Ecuador, Jamaica, Norway, Albania, Uruguay, Spain, Indonesia, El Salvador, Netherlands, and Argentina.
