Yes, Pok\u00e9mon Go is officially a hit. Almost everyone you meet on the street that has a compatible smartphone is most likely playing the hit mobile game; however, walking around the city while staring down on your screen is not exactly the safest thing to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

Accidents have been reported across all regions with access to the game. Even with Niantic Labs, the creator and developer of the game, already having safety warnings placed within the game, it\u2019s still up to the player to be safe while playing the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Philippine National Police \u2013 Police Community Relations Group (PNP-PCRG) recently released eight safety tips that will keep everyone who plays Pok\u00e9mon Go from being a statistic:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Don\u2019t Drive and Play. <\/em>Avoid playing while driving or crossing the street.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Don\u2019t be #foreveralone. <\/em>It\u2019s better to have someone hunting Pok\u00e9mon with you.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Be alert at all times.<\/em> Pay attention to your surroundings.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. No trespassing.<\/em> Ask for permission from the guard or the person in charge before you enter any place or establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Remember the curfew.<\/em> It\u2019s from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. It may have been lifted, but it\u2019s still best to avoid unsafe areas, especially at night.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. Do not leave your valuables unattended.<\/em> This is a no-brainer. Speaking of which,<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Make your mobile phone stay. <\/em>Playing Pok\u00e9mon Go should not be a reason for you to lose your mobile phone. It\u2019s Pok\u00e9mon Go, not Cellphone Go.<\/span><\/p>\n

8. Avoid snatchers, Okay!<\/em> People will do anything for a quick buck, so watch out for scrupulous-looking individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n
