On June 21, Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) company TaskUs, was featured by Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on how the company turned the call center into a cool tech startup.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a report by Eva Tam of WSJ, it features TaskUs as a call center which has a setup that will make you feel like you are in a Silicon Valley startup. This idea, to build a workplace that does not look like your typical call center, has funky chairs, a gym, large cafeteria, and a napping area.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to David Ford, TaskUs\u2019 Director of Growth Initiatives, this strategy has to be made because of the high turnover rate of the employees they lose every year, which is about 30%. It was in 2014 when they started building this cool workplace, which has affected the turnover rate of their employees that is now down to 15% compared to two years before. Also, the company uses a strategy as they are located outside Manila to make people feel that instead of them coming to the office, TaskUs is the one coming to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from that, the company also has a great employee benefit system such as scholarship programs for the employees\u2019 kids, 120-day maternity leave (far more than the legal requirement), and a rewards program.<\/span><\/p>\n
