The Philippines is one of the best places to work in, especially for the expats. A lot of people have said that it\u2019s because of the conducive working environment, low-cost living, and the adaptability factor is better here as well, compared to working in other countries. However, it\u2019s not always easy to get a job here, particularly in Manila as you will also have to compete with other job seekers for the same position. To help you out, Primer lists some of the things you should know when it comes to a job interview in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Know where to find a job.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Usually, sites such as Jobstreet, Kalibrr, or LinkedIn are the websites where you can find job postings. Research on the company you want to apply first to see if they have an opening or if they accept walk-in applicants. If you\u2019ve been offered a position by an unfamiliar company, be sure to research on it first before giving a go signal as it may just be a scam.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Know your place.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Manila is such a very complicated place in terms of transportation and directions. Before heading out, make sure that you know how to get there. You may already have an idea of how the traffic system here is, so be sure to double check your route. Don\u2019t always rely on smartphone apps, it\u2019s still helpful to ask the locals for info.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Bring the necessary items you need.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You may have posted out your resume in the internet, and maybe that\u2019s where the company got a copy, but you still need to bring a physical copy of your resume once scheduled for an interview. Be sure to make it updated, and translated if needed. This saves you from the hassle of searching for a printing shop along the area. Bring the important things such as a pen, a copy of your resume, important documents, a calculator or a portfolio (if necessary).<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Prepare, prepare, prepare!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re interviewing for a position that requires you to interact with clients, make the interviewer feel that you are knowledgeable when it comes to the necessary spoken language. Impress the interviewer that you know other languages which instantly gives you an edge among others. Usually, job interviews come in parts: the initial interview, written exam, and the final interview. These may be scheduled in different days but better to ask if there may be other important process you need to prepare for.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Wear proper attire.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In case you are not informed, job interviews usually require you to wear formal or business attire during interviews. Your appearance says a lot about you, so be sure to look formal. Just like any other job interviews, you should refrain from wearing flashy clothes or being overdressed. Just look neat and you\u2019re off to go!<\/span><\/p>\n
