Photo courtesy of <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/lenirobredo.com\/photos\/\"><em>lenirobredo.com<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>1. <em>She was a human rights lawyer before being a congresswoman.<\/em><\/strong> She used to work for the <em>Sentro ng Alternatibong Lingap Panligal<\/em> (SALIGAN), a national alternative lawyer\u2019s group that helps the marginalized sectors before being elected as the representative for the Third District of Camarines Sur. She would\u2019ve been a Regional Trial Court (RTC) judge by now had her husband, the late Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo, not met his untimely demise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>2.<em> Her simple lifestyle is no ruse. <\/em><\/strong>While most people have taken to social media to say that it is merely a ruse, Robredo\u2019s simple lifestyle of taking public transport and shying away from the limelight is her way of honoring her husband\u2019s <em>tsinelas\u00a0<\/em>leadership, leading through living a simple life and being connected with the masses.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>3.<\/strong><em><strong> Roxas was more than her running mate.<\/strong> <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/newsinfo.inquirer.net\/713937\/leni-robredo-tells-roxas-you-were-a-good-friend-a-second-spouse-to-jesse\" target=\"_blank\">She has been quoted<\/a> saying that former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas was \u201cJesse\u2019s second wife.\u201d During her speech at her husband\u2019s third death anniversary in August 2015, she also said that Roxas was a good friend of her husband.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>4.<em> She is very organized, <\/em><\/strong>but not to the point where you\u2019d call it being obsessive-compulsive (OC). According to an article on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spot.ph\/newsfeatures\/newsfeatures-peopleparties\/63817\/10-facts-you-didnt-know-leni-robredo\" target=\"_blank\">Spot.ph<\/a>, she has multiple lists on her hard drive pertaining to her household (pantry, storeroom, books and magazines, catalogued photographs). There\u2019s also a label for everything in the Robredo house: food closet, medicine cabinet, school and office supplies drawers, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>5.<em> She has a permanent neck injury. <\/em><\/strong>In the same report, it says the Vice President got this injury from a car accident many moons ago. Most of the time, she doesn\u2019t feel any pain; but when she does, she wears a neck brace. Her husband used to put her on a traction machine for about 30 minutes a day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>6.<em> She married her boss. <\/em><\/strong>Most people think it\u2019s impossible to do so, but not the Vice President. Robredo took a job at the Bicol River Basin Development Program, which was then led by her would-be husband, Jesse. In a report from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rappler.com\/nation\/politics\/elections\/2016\/108017-leni-robredo-profile-2016\" target=\"_blank\">Rappler<\/a>, her first meeting with Jesse was as unromantic as it gets: she brought a recommendation letter from Jesse\u2019s politician-uncle to try to land the job, but the man was not impressed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>7.<em> She loves Choc-Nut. <\/em><\/strong>Yes, that one thing that every Filipino seems to crave for is a favorite of the Vice President, so much so that it was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gmanetwork.com\/news\/story\/571482\/lifestyle\/food\/chocnut-filled-buchi-on-the-menu-in-leni-robredo-s-inaugural-merienda\" target=\"_blank\">served during her inauguration<\/a> last June 30, albeit not in the way Filipinos are used to seeing it: it was used as filling for <em>buchi<\/em>, a rice cake made from sweet rice flour molded into balls usually filled with sweet bean paste.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Do you have more information about the Vice President that the people ought to know?
